Scammers Never Quit
08/28/2024
Yesterday (8/27/24), I received a phone call at the L.C.S.O. from a very smooth talking individual. This person asked to speak with the Sheriff and was transferred to my office phone. He went on to speak of his prior partnerships with our office and claimed we have purchased items from his "company" recently.
He then provided me with an offer to provide our office with a couple nice Keurig coffee machines at no cost if we purchased some "drug testing" kits from this "company" from Texas.
As drug tests are something we utilize and order on a regular basis, I was interested in learning more about what this gentleman was selling. I asked him what their website was so I could take a look at their products while I was on the phone with him. He then acted like he was asking an associate of his their web address and promptly hung up on me.
This scammer also called from a restricted number.
Moral of the story is, not even the Sheriff's Office is immune from these calls.
Stay vigilant everyone.
