The Livingston County Sheriff's Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Detective/School Resource Officer. The successful applicant must possess an active Missouri POST license with 3 years law enforcement experience. Livingston County residency is required. Applicants must have excellent communications ability including high competency in testifying in a courtroom setting. Applicants should excel at working with juveniles in a school environment or have the capability to gain this skill through past experiences interacting with juveniles at a law enforcement capacity. This position also requires the ability to conduct detailed and thorough investigations. The L.C.S.O. provides on the job training and may require use of force, handling firearms, dealing with aggressive and violent people.
Successful applicant must pass standard L.C.S.O. field-training program, school resource officer training and DARE Program training.
Application process requires an oral interview(s), drug screen and background investigation. Current 2024 pay: $25.00 an hour with schedule geared towards servicing Livingston County Schools with some evenings and nights as necessary:

Plus overtime pay opportunities.
Plus all equipment, uniforms and training provided.
LCSO pays overtime after 160 hours in 28-day pay period.
