The Livingston County Sheriffs Office has submitted 3 grant applications this week for financial assistance for our office.
1. Sheriff Cox authored a grant application to the Deputy Sheriff Salary Supplemental Fund requesting up to $38,460 dollars to be used exclusively to supplement the current salaries for our sworn deputy sheriffs from July 01 through June 30. The grant application also includes a request for and additional $9,596.40 for additional costs to fringe benefits.
The purpose of this grant is to help our office reduce the employee turnover rate as we historically have employee turnover related to low authorized pay and benefits as compared to other agencies and private employers.
Livingston County Presiding Commissioner Eva Danner-Horton is the Authorizing Official. Sheriff Steve Cox is the grants Project Director. County Clerk Sherry Parks is the grants Fiscal Officer.
2. Sergeant Michael Claypole authored two grant applications seeking funds from the Division of Highway Safety. The two grants cover equipment purchases and overtime for deputy sheriffs to work traffic safety for aggressive, drunk, and drugged drivers in Livingston County. These two grant applications total approximately $28,000.
Livingston County Presiding Commissioner Eva Danner-Horton is the Authorizing Official on this grant, Sheriff Cox is the grant Project Director, and County Clerk Sherry Parks will be the grant Fiscal Officer.
If you have any questions about these grant applications then please call Ms. Danner-Horton, Sheriff Cox, or Sgt. Claypole.
