Updates on Incident Reports, Arrests, and Other News

Incidents:

July 01 a reported incident of property damage to a storage unit in Chula has been completed. As a result of that investigation a deputy has issued two citations to a Chula man for alleged Operating a Vehicle without Brakes in Good Working Order and Failure to Drive within a Single Lane resulting in an Accident.

July 09 a Wheeling resident reported the theft of an i-Phone 5C and charger from the residence. The Caldwell County Sheriff assisted with this investigation and interviewed the person of interest. That person was found in possession of the phone and claimed the reported victim had originally stolen the phone from her. The phone was seized pending proof of ownership by either party. Investigation continues and charges are pending.

July 10 a deputy and 2 MSHP Troopers checked the well-being of a person on Highway 190 at the Thompson River. Information had been obtained the individual was suicidal. Investigation resulted in the citizen being taken to HMC for treatment and additional services.

July 11 an off-duty deputy was in a business on Elm Street and witnessed a man allegedly attempt to pass counterfeit money. The deputy escorted the man outside and summoned Chillicothe Police who continued that investigation and made a custodial arrest.

July 12 a deputy investigated a report of Domestic Assault and Property Damage in the 9000 block of Liv 239. Investigation resulted in the arrest of Kyle Anthony Eichler, 28, Chillicothe, for alleged Domestic Assault 3rd degree. Mr. Eichler was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail pending formal charges.

July 20 a report of a stolen PTO drive shaft was received. Investigation continues.

July 21 a report of 2 run-a-way juveniles in the Dawn area was investigated. The juveniles subsequently returned to the grandparent’s home and information is being submitted to the Juvenile Office.

 

Arrests:

July 10 Ashley Huff surrendered to the LCSO on a Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Failure to Appear in Court on original charges of misdemeanor Domestic Assault 3-degree, misdemeanor Assault/Attempt, class D felony Property Damage in 1st Degree, and misdemeanor Resisting/Interfering with Arrest/Detention/Stop. Ms. Huff was released on bond pending next Court appearance.

July 23 the LCSO served a Livingston County arrest warrant on Angela Stock, 35, Wheeling for alleged Failure to Obey a Judge’s Order on an original charge of class B misdemeanor Peace Disturbance. Ms. Stock was transferred to DDCRJ in lieu of bond.

July 27 a deputy served an arrest warrant on a traffic stop near Highway 190 and Liv 233. Gary Michael Calvert, 20, Chillicothe was arrested on Livingston County arrest warrant 13LV-CR00103-02 for alleged PROBATION VIOLATION on convictions of class C felony Endangering the Welfare of a Child 1st Degree and Sexual Misconduct 1St Degree a class A misdemeanor. Bond was denied by the Court and the date of the warrant was July 27, 2015. Mr. Calvert was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb County Jail.

 

Other Information:

July 11 a deputy issued a speeding citation to a Grandview driver for alleged 90 in a 65 traveling west on U.S. 36 at Apple Orchid Hill.

July 21 a deputy stopped a Brookfield man on US 36 at Liv 269 and issued a citation for 99 in a 65.

July 25 Sheriff Cox received information from DDCRJ of a Livingston County male detainee being violent toward jail staff. The detainee was allegedly reaching through the food port toward the officer and cursing the staff in addition to refusing to comply with multiple requests. Pepper spray was deployed and the situation then controlled. A report is being distributed to Livingston County Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren for local Court information and a report being sent to Daviess County Prosecuting Attorney for consideration.
