On March 14 the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office worked with a task force from St. Joseph Missouri and conducted investigations of Supply or Selling Intoxicants to Minors. During this investigation a person under the age of 21 attempted to purchase intoxicants from various retail businesses and bars. This investigation resulted in 2 people being given citations from a Livingston County Deputy for alleged Supply Intoxicants to a Minor. Both citizens are required to appear in Livingston County Court on April 22, 2015. This is the second similar enforcement activity we have completed in Livingston County. The enforcement expenses are fully paid for on a grant and Livingston County receives money equal to the employment cost of the deputies and overtime. We also have been working to help educate local establishments and citizens to these kinds of problems.
March 14 a deputy started an investigation of reported an owner failing to maintain control of his livestock which resulted in property damage to a neighbor’s yard and sprinkler system. The deputy has attempted to contact the livestock owner and the report is being submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration.
March 15 a deputy began an investigation at the intersection of Liv 251 and Liv 238. The incident involved a pickup traveling east on Liv 238 and failed to slow or stop for the T intersection at Liv 251. The pickup continued east bound and went airborne for some distance before landing on Chillicothe Air Port property. Witness reported the pickup then turned around and left the area. Investigation is continuing.
March 16 an illegal trash dumping was reported near the intersection of Liv 245 and Liv 218. Deputies have followed leads found in that trash and the investigation continues.
March 18 a deputy was on Highway Z and checked a vehicle at 73 in a 55. Upon stopping the vehicle the deputy learned the driver allegedly had a suspended license. The driver was cited for both violations and released from the LCSO.
March 19 Deputy Sheriff/School Resource Officer Mike Lewis filed a report with this office regarding an allegation a juvenile student at Chillicothe High School may have possessed and brandished a knife on school property. Investigation is now complete, parents and juvenile officer notified as school officials will handle administrative actions as necessary.
March 23 an investigation began of a reported violent convicted felon being in possession of a prohibited firearm. A search and several interviews have taken place and the matter remains under investigation.
March 30 an investigation of Identity Theft and Tax Fraud were reported. The citizens had their identity used in multiple states on income tax fraud. Additional investigation is taking place.
March 16 the LCSO arrested Adam Byron Copple, 36, St. Joseph on a Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Probation Violation on an original conviction of class C felony Statutory Rape in 2nd degree. Mr. Copple was held in lieu of $2,500 cash bond.
March 19 deputies arrested Shandon Levi Gann, 17, Chillicothe on a Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Failure to Obey a Judge’s Order while on bond on 2 alleged class C felony violations being Burglary 2nd degree and Theft/Stealing. Bond was set at $25,000 and Mr. Gann was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail.
March 24 Gregory M. Anderson, 45, Chillicothe was arrested on a Livingston County arrest warrant after Mr. Anderson surrendered himself to the LCSO. The warrant is for alleged Probation Violation on an original conviction of 2 class B felony Controlled Substance Violations. The Court denied bond and Mr. Anderson was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail.
March 27 a deputy served a Livingston County arrest warrant on Angela Stock, 34, Wheeling on an alleged charge of class B misdemeanor Peace Disturbance. Bond was set by the Court at $2,500 cash only and ordered No Contact with Any Member of the Jury Pool of the Joseph Perry Jury Trial.
March 28 the LCSO served a Livingston County arrest warrant on Patrick Wayne Evans, 46, Wheeling for alleged Probation Violation on original conviction of class C felony Possession of Controlled Substance. The Court denied bond on this warrant and Mr. Evans was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail.
March 31 a deputy arrested Kayla Lee Dowell, 25, Chillicothe on a Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Violation of Education Requirement for a Child. Ms. Dowell subsequently posted the bond of $150 and was released pending next court appearance.
A deputy issued 3 speeding citations to 3 different drivers on a recent grant funded traffic enforcement overtime project. The deputy issued an Independence Missouri driver a citation for 85 in a 65, an Illinois driver for 84 in a 65, and a Clarksdale driver for 83 in a 65.
Currently the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office is holding 42 people in custody at the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail.
