December 10 an investigation into an alleged stolen motorcycle from a location in the northwest part of the county was made. The investigation resulted in the recovery of the motorcycle and the matter remains under investigation.
December 10 a report of stolen tools from a building was initiated. Victim reported various Snap-On tools removed from building without permission. Investigation continues.
December 11 an investigation of residential burglary and stealing began in Chula. A suspect entered the home and removed various electronic devices, checks and other items. A suspect has been identified and we are still seeking that individual.
December 11 a report of property damage to a soda machine in Dawn was received. The incident is alleged to have taken place between November 26 and December 11. Investigation continues.
December 12 an investigation of property damage to the Ludlow Lions Park and Ball Field was received. Crime scene investigation shows the yard and ball field of the park were damaged when a vehicle was driven onto those areas and ruts were caused by the driver spinning the tires with intent to create damage. Lights at the area were also shot out. A reward is being offered for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible. December 12 an investigation began of property damage to a yard at a residence in the 10000 block of Old 190. Suspect drove onto the victim’s property creating ruts and drove around items in the yard and caused significant damage. Investigation is continuing.
December 12 a report of possible animal neglect was investigated in Wheeling. The deputy learned the animal owner had obtained this dog from a rescue shelter and the dog is being properly cared for but is still recovering.
December 13 deputies checked the well-being of a reported suicidal person in the southern part of Livingston County. The individual was contacted and the officers helped the individual obtain treatment.
December 13 a deputy assisted a MSHP Trooper with a drug investigation.
December 14 the LCSO continued assisting the Missouri State Technical Assistance Team with a criminal investigation.
December 14 the sheriff assisted the Chillicothe Department of Emergency Services gain entry into a home in the western part of Livingston County after a family member had called dispatch concerned after their elderly relative would not answer the phone. The person was found in the home and in need of urgent care. The ambulance staff did an outstanding job of helping this patient. Our thoughts continue to be with that person and their family.
The LCSO currently has 47 detainees in the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail.
