October 21 we attempted to serve an arrest warrant on a fugitive hiding at a residence in Chillicothe. A primary occupant of that home had previously been warned by LCSO staff not to provide assistance or aide the fugitive in avoiding arrest. On that date LCSO staff arrested the fugitive on the arrest warrant. Deputies also arrested the adult resident of the home for alleged Hindering Prosecution. That person was taken to the sheriff’s office and questioned then released pending a report being submitted to Livingston County Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren for consideration.
October 17 the LCSO received information that money was taken during a school activity. Information was shared with Deputy Sheriff/School Resource Officer Mike Lewis regarding that information. Subsequent investigation resulted in determining a specific amount of money was missing and two juveniles allegedly being involved in the theft. Some of the funds have been recovered. All parents and juvenile officer have been notified. School authorities will have administrative review.
October 31 Sheriff Cox conducted a compliance check on 35 of the registered Sex Offenders in Livingston County. Of the 35 checks there were 2 found not to be in compliance but one of those was already being investigated for having not reported a change of address and had moved from their registered address. Reports are being submitted to Livingston County Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren for consideration.
October 31 the LCSO began an investigation of theft from a rural Hale farm. Victim reported his Primos pop-up hunting blind, 5 gallon bucket and folding stool were stolen. Investigation continues.
November 03 the LCSO has completed an investigation of a registered sex offender that allegedly is not registering with the LCSO as mandated by law. The report is being submitted to Livingston County Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren for consideration of charges.
November 05 the LCSO had 39 detainees from the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail in Associate Court. All appeared before Judge James P. Valbracht and Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren.
November 01 the LCSO and MSHP arrested Samuel Edward Anders, 35, Trenton in the parking lot of Southwest School on a Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged class D felony Attempted Theft/Stealilng of property/services valued between $500 and $25,000. Mr. Anders was transported to the LCSO and transferred to the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail in lieu of bond.
The LCSO currently has 60 detainees in the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail.
