An animal abuse/neglect investigation from September 23 in the Ludlow area has been completed and a report is being submitted to Livingston County Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren for consideration of charges against one suspect.
October 14 a deputy arrested Rusty Don Schneiter, 20, Dawn on a Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Probation Violation on original convictions of 2 class C felony Possession of Controlled Substance violations. The Court listed no bond on the warrant on case #14LV-CR00179-01. Mr. Schneiter was transferred to the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail.
October 10 a deputy investigated reports of a vehicle allegedly driving careless and imprudent while 2 small children were not restrained. The deputy stopped the car at Liv 511 and 522. The Iowa driver was given 2 summons for child restraint violations.
October 14 we began an investigation of Identity Theft where a local citizen learned their identity had been used in a southern state to open a credit card account. Investigation continues.
The LCSO has received multiple notices of area citizens receiving confirmation of winning Euro Millones Lottery Sweepstakes. The entire deal is a scam. Anyone that receives such notice should either hang up the phone, not open and only delete the email, or throw the letter in the trash.
October 15 a man arrived at the LCSO and spoke with an office staff person and when he learned there was a no bond warrant for his arrest he fled from the office. Area law enforcement searched for the individual and we now have information he was assisted by certain person(s) and is located in another county at this time. A report will be submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of additional charge(s). The investigation continues.
October 15 the LCSO added 3 persons to the MOST WANTED part of our website. We have been receiving tips and appreciate all the support of law enforcement. The investigations are continuing.
Currently the LCSO is holding 37 people in custody at the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail.
