On August 30, a detainee in the Livingston County Jail was allegedly upset and threatening staff. The detainee was told numerous times to cease his aggressive actions, stance, and actions. After continuing to refuse to comply with directives and cease his aggressive actions, the jail administrator used the department issued Taser on the suspect. The Taser activation permitted the situation to be halted long enough to render the situation safe. The detainee was moved to maximum security and interviewed by the chief deputy. The investigation shows when Chief Deputy Lightner interviewed the detainee about his actions the detainee made it clear of his continued desire to physically harm our employee. The detainee allegedly reported to Chief Deputy Lightner that when he is released from prison his intentions are to hunt down our employee. We are forwarding this investigation report to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of criminal charges. The suspect has since been returned to the Department of Corrections and they too have been notified of the situation and allegations.
